Let me share with you a story that best describes what it means to dream. Once, Paul received a brand new car from his brother as a present. When Paul came out of his office, a street urchin was walking around the shiny new car, admiring it. "Is this your car, Mister?" he asked. Paul nodded. "My brother gave it to me for Christmas." The boy was astounded. "You mean your brother gave it to you and it didn't cost you anything? Boy reluctantly said, I dream...". Of course Paul knew what the boy was going to dream for. He was going to wish he had a brother like that. But what the lad said jarred Paul all the way down to his heels.
"I DREAM," the boy went on, "THAT I COULD BE A BROTHER LIKE THAT. I DREAM NOT FOR MYSELF BUT FOR THOSE IN NEED. Paul looked at the boy in astonishment.
Great men are those:
1. Who once had a dream.
2. Dream not for oneself but for the others.
3. Believed that the dream would come true.
A cow boy from Becchi dreams that he could someday be a shepherd, father and friend of many youth. He dreams not for himself but for the youngsters…He dares to pursue the dream amidst all the pains and struggles that come on his way… you know! We know who is that cowboy from Becchi… Yes, you are right… It is our St. John Bosco, Father and friend of youth. One Dream of Don Bosco continues to give hope to the dreams of Millions of youth in and through his sons and daughters…
Let us then Dare to Dream… not for ourselves but for the OTHERS.
